If you love chocolate, live in Ottawa, and you’ve never been to Cacao 70 allow me to introduce you to every chocolate lovers heaven. I’ve been Cacao 70 a few times so I’ve been able to work my way around the menu which can be overwhelming for a first time visitor.
The ambiance is calm but can get very busy during peak hours so be sure to visit with extra time for waiting. If you want more space, I’ll suggest the Lansdowne location as it has more space when compared to the Byward Market location which gets’s tight once it’s full. The servers are accommodating with helping you navigate the menu.
I would suggest you get one of the sharing plates if you are in a group, that way you get a good feel of the menu, you also get to choose what type of chocolate you want. The sharing plates will make for a great date night or girls night dessert. They recently introduced marshmallows to their sharing plates, so you get to grill the marshmallows in store.
Cacao 70 is definitely a chocolate lovers heaven, a romantic spot to take your significant other, girls night out and even a good treat to yourself.
